Are you taking clients during the COVID-19 outbreak?
I already take on a number of clients by video conference and so I am definitely familiar with remote teaching! I will only be taking clients by video consultation or phone consultation until further notice. Thank you for your understanding!
Why do you encourage plant-based diets?
While I fully support all sorts of approaches to a well-balanced, nutrient rich plate, the most unbiased and sensible nutrition recommendations from around the world do encourage a plant-emphasis to reach optimal health. For those who don't want to drastically minimize their intake of animal products, I encourage baby steps to include more vegetables, enough fruits, and other whole foods. For others, they look to me to help refine their already strictly plant-based diet! The majority of my clients find themselves somewhere in between. Let me know what your goals are and we will work together to achieve them!
Do you provide a meal plan?
With the one-year, six-month programs, three-month, and one-month, a meal plan is crafted especially for you and your calorie and protein needs! I take into account preferences, intolerances and allergies, and lifestyle choices, as well as your time to prep. The best part is that YOU get to select flavours and meals that appeal to you, so meal plans are completely customizable for your greatest chance at success!
Why don’t I get a meal plan at the first appointment?
There are a few reasons I will build your meal plan in the second or third appointment rather than the first.
One, there is just barely enough time to both gather all the information, complete your assessment, identify shortcomings of your current meal habits, and lay out the program expectations on both sides in the first appointment!
Two, this may not personally apply to you, but many people are too overwhelmed with information at the first appointment to even think of applying a meal plan. The few times I have provided a meal plan on the spot, clients had been very unsuccessful in applying a plan that I have not had much time to explain and help them apply.
Third, there is a methodical process to the way meal planning is taught - this isn’t just your average nutrition program! Don’t worry - we’ll get there! And you’ll have all the tools you need to make this healthy eating endeavour a permanent life change!
What kind of conditions are you familiar with?
There is nothing that I am not up for when it comes to tackling health challenges! My clients' concerns are including but not limited to: chronic health conditions like heart disease and diabetes, gut health disturbances like Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Irritable Bowel Disease, celiac disease, food intolerances, emotional eating and eating disorders, reflux and upper digestive tract concerns, diverticulosis, skin conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, endometriosis, autoimmune disease, osteoporosis, and of course troubles with weight gain or weight loss! I have helped clients with all the above conditions gain better control over their eating habits and gather all the evidence they need to make informed decisions about diet!
How are your programs different from other Dietitian/Nutritionists?

You betcha! I'm available by email to you anytime during the respective one month, three month, six month and twelve month programs. The more you take advantage of that - asking about current research, products you're looking at in the grocery store or online, or simply reporting that you're in need of extra support and encouragement - the more successful you will be! I'll be reaching out to you weekly by email so you can trust that you'll be kept accountable and achieve your goals much faster than if you were on your own! I'm here for you!!

What sets "Nourished by Bri" apart from other Dietitians and Nutritionists?
Brianna is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, which means she has completed a 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree with a Physical Activity Specialization and a supervised, hands-on internship. She has experience working in hospitals combatting a variety of nutrition-related illnesses, and also has a fitness background working as a Personal Trainer for 4 years.
Dietitians are qualified health professionals regulated by a professional body just as Pharmacists or Doctors are. They can work with various medical conditions and provide much more than just a generic meal plan.
